Schedule Filling Up | Canandaigua Senior Portraits

July has been a fabulous month, and August is shaping up to be very busy.  I have just three Signature Sessions and four Express Sessions available for August — those times can be seen HERE.  Please call very soon to grab one of these sessions before the start of the school year.

For a bit more info on the difference in session types, you can see what they involve HERE.  And don’t forget my offer to have 2 or 3 seniors share a Signature Session.  I have one of those scheduled for Saturday and I’m really looking forward to it.

And PLEASE forgive me for the sporadic blog posts.  I have been posting some Class of 2011 sessions on the Laura Brophy Photography Page on Facebook.

Photo Art | Step into a World of Fantasy | Finger Lakes Photographer

It is my pleasure to share this unique photo art with you.  I am now collaborating with a fabulous artist, Donna Martinez, for Photo Art commissions.  Starting with a Laura Brophy Photography portrait from a past or current session, Donna will work with us to create digitally painted and manipulated scenes of magic, fantasy, and imagination.  The details are amazing!

The photo of my Rachel was created specifically for a commission. Rachel and I gave her some general direction, by sharing photos of her room and a little bit about her passions, and Donna went to work.  We were so delighted that Donna incorporated snow globes. It was not something we had mentioned to her, but she saw Rachel’s collection in the photo of her room, and drew her inspiration from Rachel’s world.  We have sent this off for printing as a 24×24 gallery-wrapped canvas, and we’ll share a photo of the finished product when we get it hung.

When working with clients who want such a creation, we can use existing images from a previous session or work to set up something specific in a session to incorporate a child’s passions and interests. I’ll upload the starting photo a bit later today, and I invite you to check out some of Donna Martinez’s Photo Art creations.  Please let me know if you are interested in working to create such an heirloom art piece for your home.

Flashback Friday

I am happy to introduce Flashback Friday.  On Fridays in 2010, I’m going to post an image or two from a past session.  Fun for you, and fun for me.  They could be as recent as the week before or from 2006, my first year in business.  No names will be provided, but if you spot yourself or your kiddo in the Friday Flashback, drop me a quick email to claim a complementary 8×10 of the image and a gift certificate for $50 toward a future session for yourself or to pass along to family or friends.  Be sure to check back every week, as you must be in touch before the next Friday to qualify for the photo and certificate (that email needs to reach me by midnight on Thursday).  You can check the blog or, to get a reminder each week, become a Facebook Fan of Laura Brophy Photography, which has a feed from the blog.

And what if I don’t post on a Friday?  The first person to email me with a friendly reminder on Saturday receives a $50 gift certificate toward a session for their immediate family’s use.  (Sorry, this one can’t be passed along.)  You are only eligible to receive this award once in 2010.

So here are our first images for Flashback Friday.ff11

A few details to keep in mind: Only one certificate may be redeemed per session.  The certificate must be used within 1 year from the Flashback Friday in which the image appeared and may be applied towards a wedding, family or senior session.  There will be few “black out” special mini session dates for which you may not apply the Flashback Friday certificate. Those will be noted when posted.  Certificates may not be sold and have no cash value.
