Flashback Friday

I am happy to introduce Flashback Friday.  On Fridays in 2010, I’m going to post an image or two from a past session.  Fun for you, and fun for me.  They could be as recent as the week before or from 2006, my first year in business.  No names will be provided, but if you spot yourself or your kiddo in the Friday Flashback, drop me a quick email to claim a complementary 8×10 of the image and a gift certificate for $50 toward a future session for yourself or to pass along to family or friends.  Be sure to check back every week, as you must be in touch before the next Friday to qualify for the photo and certificate (that email needs to reach me by midnight on Thursday).  You can check the blog or, to get a reminder each week, become a Facebook Fan of Laura Brophy Photography, which has a feed from the blog.

And what if I don’t post on a Friday?  The first person to email me with a friendly reminder on Saturday receives a $50 gift certificate toward a session for their immediate family’s use.  (Sorry, this one can’t be passed along.)  You are only eligible to receive this award once in 2010.

So here are our first images for Flashback Friday.ff11

A few details to keep in mind: Only one certificate may be redeemed per session.  The certificate must be used within 1 year from the Flashback Friday in which the image appeared and may be applied towards a wedding, family or senior session.  There will be few “black out” special mini session dates for which you may not apply the Flashback Friday certificate. Those will be noted when posted.  Certificates may not be sold and have no cash value.

“Be Mine” Mini Sessions

valentineFor the last couple of years, I’ve been creating custom Valentine’s cards for my special little girl, and others have asked about getting in on the action. It’s such a fun way to beat the winter blahs and have a little fun with February 14th.  It’s perfect for our little cupids, high school students who want to have a little fun, or even our older lovebirds.  Join me in the studio on Saturday, January 23rd, for a 15-20 minute mini-session.  $50 fee includes the session and 50 complimentary little Valentine’s cards with envelopes. There will also be mini session collection pricing for digital files and prints, or prints may be purchased at prevailing rates ($25 for 5×7s and $35 for 8×10s).

This is also the perfect session for folks looking for some great head shots for Facebook or a dating site.  Let this Valentine’s Day be a great start to finding a new love in your life.

Each session will result in a gallery of 8-10 images for your review and selection in an online gallery.  The gallery will be available for 3 days for viewing and orders. Orders must be placed on time in order to print and deliver for Valentine’s Day.  Late orders forfeit the complimentary cards.

The Details

The Valentine’s Cards: The cards are business-card sized, perfect for school distribution but not appropriate for mailing, unless placed in a larger envelope.  You may upgrade to 25 mailable 4.5×5 cards for an additional $25.   You will have a selection of card designs to chose from at the session. For those not interested in the cards, you may substitute an 8×10 print.

Multiple Children: You may have up to three children photographed together for a mini sesssion, with one set of cards.  If you want individual images of children, please schedule individual sessions back-to-back.  1 child $50, 2 children $100, 3 children $125.  All children will get sets of cards, and we’ll reserve a few minutes for a joint picture as well.

Mini Session Digital Collection: $125 includes 1 5×7 and 4 web-sized images, sized and watermarked for social networking, such as Facebook, myspace, or dating sites.

Mini Session Print Collection: $235 includes 1 8×10, 4 5×7s, and 3 3×3 Mini Accordion albums with 9 images.  These sweet little albums look adorable on a desk or shelf, and travel beautifully in a purse for mom or grandma or even a doting aunt!

Facebook Love

facebook1After some initial kicking and screaming and much to the dismay of my children, I’m starting to get Facebook and am rather enjoying connecting with friends, family, my colleagues, and my clients too!  Check out the new Laura Brophy Photography Page on Facebook.  I’ve also added a link on the Menu bar above.

I’ve got a feed set up on the blog, so posts here will show up there, but keep coming back here to see the photos big and beautiful.  I’m always in need of blog love.

I welcome fans and friends and invite my seniors to tag themselves in photos and to spread the word.  I’m tracking Class of 2010 referrals. My top referrer, as cited by clients when they book, will win an ipod Touch. You can spread the word the old fashioned way by showing off your great senior portraits, or show me some Facebook love.  I know. Shameless.
