Let’s shake this up a little today. Here’s my favorite project of the year — our family yearbook, a strange compilation of photos from sessions with my family to the best of our collective iphone efforts. We will resume Class of 2013 sessions tomorrow. If you are on a device, it may ask you for an Gallery ID. It’s a93.

I took advantage of this cold and rainy afternoon to finish up our family photo book from 2011. It’s a quirky mix of photos taken with all sorts of cameras — everything from my professional gear to point & shoots to the iphone. Most taken by me, but lots by others in the family. I wanted to capture the year and our many adventures. I wish I could say that I’ve done this every year, but I have hope to slowly work my way back in time and recreate the years in images. And while I designed this one myself in inDesign, there are some really great photobook companies out there with design tools that make this possible for anyone to do.

Happy New Year! As we start the year of the dragon, I was reminded of this photo from 2008 that remains one of my favorites. In honor of the opening games of the summer Olympics in Beijing, Sonnenberg Gardens hosted a wonderful celebration. Kids from the community helped decorate the most wonderful dragons, and just as they were walking into the celebration, we were hit with a deluge. That’s my Rachel on the right in blue.

As many of my readers know, my son Will is in Ghana on a summer term abroad. He’s keeping a blog that I think is pretty cool, but I’m his mom and hardly unbiased, so I’ll leave it to you to decide…. There are some great photos there too. Here’s one of my favorites. Check out www.willbrophy.com when you have a few minutes.
P.S. Tonight is my last night of vacation. I’m looking forward to some great sessions this week. And I’m also making a commitment to blog at least one image a day for the next 7 days. It’ll be a combination of client sessions and personal images. Hold me to it.

And here are my sweet Rachel and her best buddy Stella. 4th grade for Rachel! Stella seemed quite sad to see her go..jpg)
