Baby Meredith | Canandaigua Newborn Photographer

What a sweet little thing this wee one was — the most amazing red hair, gentle face, and sweet little toes and ears.  The best part of photographing newborns is the quite moments in between everything when I just get to take it all in.  What a privilege to be with parents in these first precious days.  I generally like B&W photos with newborns, but I simply couldn’t resist some color with little Meredith.

Charming Smile | Finger Lakes Family Portraits

I’ve known this young man since the day he was born. And in celebration of his braces coming off (and as a surprise for Mother’s Day), his dad brought him in for portraits. Love that charming smile and sweet face!  I have to add that I love this age (13!).  It’s such a great transitional moment, and I always find portraits at this age really intriguing and compelling.

A Quiet Afternoon at Home | Rochester NY Family Photographer

OK, so maybe not so quiet.  But oh so fun!

As my winter hiatus winds down, I had the great pleasure of photographing this lovely, energetic young family, just a typical Sunday afternoon at home.  I love sessions where we just play and hang together, read books, talk pirate, capturing sweet expressions and relationships, eating grapes, and having lots of fun along the way.  Meet Amy and Jimmy and their two little boys.

Flashback Friday | Canandaigua Photographer

ff_marcus-storyboard

And here we have Week 2 of Flashback Friday.  On Fridays in 2010, I am posting an image or two from a past session.  Fun for you, and fun for me.  They could be as recent as the week before or from 2006, my first year in business.  No names will be provided, but if you spot yourself or your kiddo in the Friday Flashback, drop me a quick email to claim a complementary 8×10 of the image and a gift certificate for $50 toward a future session for yourself or to pass along to family or friends.  Be sure to check back every week, as you must be in touch before the next Friday to qualify for the photo and certificate (that email needs to reach me by midnight on Thursday).  You can check the blog or, to get a reminder each week, become a Facebook Fan of Laura Brophy Photography, which has a feed from the blog.

And what if I don’t post on a Friday?  The first person to email me with a friendly reminder on Saturday receives a $50 gift certificate toward a session for their immediate family’s use.  (Sorry, this one can’t be passed along.)  You are only eligible to receive this award once in 2010.

A few details to keep in mind: Only one certificate may be redeemed per session.  The certificate must be used within 1 year from the Flashback Friday in which the image appeared and may be applied towards a wedding, family or senior session.  There will be few “black out” special mini session dates for which you may not apply the Flashback Friday certificate. Those will be noted when posted.  Certificates may not be sold and have no cash value.
