lacrosse

I decided to go watch some of the local boys play lacrosse. I’ve photographed several of the boys on the team and I wanted to see them in action!

soccer fun

I set out with camera and my 200mm f/2.8 L lens to catch some soccer action the other night, and discovered that 5 year olds don’t actually see that much action when they are concentrating on keeping control of a soccer ball. There were moments when I swear it looked like S-L-O-W motion. Playing with the camera saved me from the torture of watching my lovely, but seriously uncoordinated daughter, “play soccer.” I think she is sensing her limitations and recently declared, “I think I’m more of a swimmer.” Now if she could just lose the bubble, she’d be all set.

I’ve only used the 200mm for swimming and events work. I knew it rocked for swimming, but I actually want to play with it more for portraits and other work. At f/2.8 it is tack sharp and the color is gorgeous!I set out with camera and my 200mm f/2.8 L lens to catch some soccer action the other night, and discovered that 5 year olds don’t actually see that much action when they are concentrating on keeping control of a soccer ball. zora

I had the pleasure of meeting this little cutie this weekend. What an absolute doll she is! She wasn’t so sure about me at first, but we made a great game of “catching” pictures and playing on the swingset. Got ya, Zora!

commencement

Yesterday was commencement for the education school, and I enjoyed photographing the ceremony and the wonderful architectural details and flowers of the day. What an absolutely beautiful day it was! And while I must confess to not feeling the love for standard event photography, I do love the details that come together and the warm interactions between people that make the day memorable.
