Family Time

daldren-145

OK, I confess. I am proofing out of order.  But this great family originally booked a Christmas session, and we’ve been rescheduling ever since, waiting for the stars to aline.  At long last, yesterday, we had the PERFECT day for photos.  And since they’ve been waiting for six months, I decided to just get them the images immediately!  This first family shot is the one I’ve had in my head for a year for MY family.  I love it, for its casual style.  This is the street right in front of their house, making it even better.  This is the kind of shot to print BIG as an art print or gallery-wrapped canvas to stand in a special place in a home.

I had the pleasure of photographing the oldest son for senior portraits last summer, and I’ll be working with the next in line in August, so I took a little extra time with the youngest.  What a sweetie she is!

Katherine

Here’s a sneak peak of Katherine, a lovely girl I met in Atlanta.  I loved photographing her whole family, but was really taken with Katherine’s poise and style.  I decided to play with a few of her images to test out a new blogging action I purchased.  More on Katherine’s family later…

Atlanta Botanical Gardens {and a frog for Leela}

wildred

A highlight of my trip to Atlanta late last month was a trip to the Botanical Gardens with Tara and Leela.  What a lovely spot, full of wonderous sights and smells.  Two weeks later, and I believe that I have cleared the pollen from my system and can breath again, but it was still beautiful.  My favorite find was a simple one…Wild Columbine growing in the Children’s Garden. It transported me back to my childhood in Wappingers Falls and the woods behind our house.  And then together with Leela, we found this bullfrog, full of character.  I promised her a photo…

Just for fun, a favorite ever since I carried a bouquet of orchids for my wedding…

And the most wonderful surprise of our visit was the discovery that the Henry Moore exhibit that opened last weekend had been installed early and was ours to enjoy.

Oh, to be three! I had so much fun meeting Helen in Atlanta. We had a quick session in Tara’s beautiful yard, and I just fell in love with Helen and her beautiful curls! Happy Mother’s Day Paulette!

Atlanta Fun

neill-web

Thank you, Tara, for introducing me to your wonderful friends. I loved spending the weekend with everyone, and getting a glimpse of southern living at its best. Here’s the first of several sessions I’ll be posting over the next several days. Pam and family, what fun you are!!! I love your images and hope you do too.

I’ve just put together a new resource for families planning wall galleries. I know how hard it is to plan a home wall gallery — I’ve been struggling in my own home to marry the many great images I have of my family with the spaces calling for art and heart. There are lots more ideas HERE. It’s a great resource for planning larger collection and print purchases, where you want to use the images from your session to decorate your home.
