Harding Family | Canandaigua Family Portrait Photographer

I love family sessions with kids of all ages.  More and more my high school senior client families have been hiring me to capture family portraits as well, before the kiddos head off to college and exciting new adventures. This was my second round of family and senior portraits for this lovely family, and we always have fun together.  They have a beautiful log cabin in the woods, and it’s the perfect setting for portraits.

For my senior clients, I have a special add-on of a family session for just a $50 session fee.  You can get all the details HERE.

My Family | 2011

I took advantage of this cold and rainy afternoon to finish up our family photo book from 2011. It’s a quirky mix of photos taken with all sorts of cameras — everything from my professional gear to point & shoots to the iphone. Most taken by me, but lots by others in the family. I wanted to capture the year and our many adventures. I wish I could say that I’ve done this every year, but I have hope to slowly work my way back in time and recreate the years in images. And while I designed this one myself in inDesign, there are some really great photobook companies out there with design tools that make this possible for anyone to do.

Pardon the Dust

Hi there!  This week I’m doing a major overhaul of the blog to transform it into a weblog, combining my website and blog into one.  As much as I adore my current website and will be sad to see it go, it is not ipad friendly.  And since there were more ipads sold in the US last year than babies born, I’m thinking I had better get with the program.

While I can work on a website behind the scenes, the blog renovations need to be done live, and so you may see me experimenting and messing with design and content. Rather than buy a prepackaged design, I’ve decided to try to do this one my own, so please come back next week to see where this all goes.

Regards,  Laura

PS… And a quick photo, just for fun.

Year of the Dragon, Canandaigua Style

Happy New Year! As we start the year of the dragon, I was reminded of this photo from 2008 that remains one of my favorites. In honor of the opening games of the summer Olympics in Beijing, Sonnenberg Gardens hosted a wonderful celebration. Kids from the community helped decorate the most wonderful dragons, and just as they were walking into the celebration, we were hit with a deluge. That’s my Rachel on the right in blue.
