Mercy High Ball | Rochester Photographer

Last night was the Mercy Senior Ball.  I am quite sure that Will would have preferred I stay away from the photo fest, but Sarah was most welcoming, as always.  They looked beautiful, and the location was spectacular… a lovely house overlooking Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario.

For the big group shot, they were positioned in front of the sun and the lake.  Totally difficult lighting, made all the funnier by the fact that the line of 24 kids totally obscured the lake anyway.   Maybe with a ladder, we could have captured the whole scene.

But it was a beautiful night, and the kids were so fun and easy-going.

Flashback Friday | Rochester Senior Portraits

Here’s my image for today’s Flashback Friday, inspired by this evening’s shoot with the beautiful Sarah and her friends in advance of the Mercy Senior Ball.  This was such a great session from early last year, and Sarah was an awesome sport, getting in the cold May water at Corbett’s Glen.

So, you know the drill on Flashback Friday.  Look back a Friday or two if you need details.

I have much to share in the coming days.  This image reminds me that I never shared Sarah’s session here.  We made an awesome art book, and I’ll post that soon.  Also coming up… the beautiful Fridley family session at the Cornell Plantations … the first Class of 2011 session – the amazing Ikey … Mercy Ball photos…and my blooming spring garden.

I’ll be back soon with lots of fun images.

CA and Mercy Take the Court

After a long two days at the pool, we made our way to the spectacular new facility at Gates Chili High School to see the Canandaigua and Mercy girls play in sectional competition.  I found a great spot right under the net, and right in between the two teams, solving the stress I was having about loyalties.  I cheered for both teams and great play.  I had girls on both teams whose senior portraits I had done, and it was great to see them play.  Congratulations to Mercy on the win. It was a hard loss for the Canandaigua girls with key players injured on the side.

And here is my Will, my very own senior, and two of his special friends.  Just a quick session in the studio to grab a yearbook photo.  Such cuties…all three of them.

More fabulous faces of the Class of 2010

sweet_16-seniors-webThe march toward graduation continues for the Class of 2010, as seniors settle on colleges, scramble to meet deadlines, and eagerly await decisions. The Class of 2010 will always have a special place in my heart. Many of those I photographed are classmates, friends, and swimming colleagues of my son Will.

Oh, and I am playing with this template again.  I am considering offering this Sweet 16 Collage as a 20×20 in my product offerings this year.  What do you think?

P.S. I love it when a friend, sibling, parent, boyfriend or girlfriend jump into a few frames during a senior session.  I love them, and seniors do too.  (Just one extra person though with a senior session, and just for a few minutes.  For groups of friends and families beyond one sibling, we need to book a separate or extended session!)
